The Toronto Blue Jays’ $500-million superstar, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., finally exploded in the ALCS, delivering one of the biggest games of his postseason career.
Guerrero went 4-for-5, finishing just a triple shy of the cycle, as the Blue Jays crushed the Seattle Mariners 13-4 to climb back into the series, now trailing 2-1.
After entering the game 0-for-7 in the ALCS, Guerrero changed everything with a game-tying two-run homer off Mariners right-hander George Kirby. In a postgame chat with Fox Sports, Guerrero revealed his advice to teammate Giménez before the big moment:
“I told him, try to pull the ball,” Guerrero said. “He listened to me, and thank God he goes yard today.”
The slugger’s dominance now speaks for itself — he’s 13-for-28 (.464) this postseason, with four home runs, 10 RBIs, and only one strikeout.
Guerrero’s explosive return couldn’t have come at a better time, giving Toronto the momentum they desperately needed. With the next matchup looming, the Blue Jays look ready to keep their postseason dreams alive — powered by one man’s monster swing.
