Dodgers Triumph in Epic Game 7 to Repeat as World Series Champions
TORONTO — The Los Angeles Dodgers have done it again. In one of the most thrilling finishes in modern baseball, the Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in Game 7 to capture their second consecutive World Series championship.
It’s the first time in 25 years a Major League Baseball team has successfully repeated as champions — and the Dodgers made sure it came with maximum drama.
Down to their final two outs in the ninth inning, utility player Miguel Rojas turned hero with a stunning home run off Toronto closer Jeff Hoffman, keeping the Dodgers’ dream alive. The tension peaked when the Blue Jays loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth, but Los Angeles held firm.
Then came the moment of destiny. In the top of the 11th, catcher Will Smith smashed a towering home run to left field, giving the Dodgers their first lead of the night. Game 6 starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto then shut the door, stranding the tying run at third to secure the title.
The victory marks the Dodgers’ ninth championship in franchise history, their eighth since moving to Los Angeles, and their third in the last five years. Once seen as inevitable due to their superstar roster and $500 million payroll, this championship run became a test of grit and resilience — a true Hollywood ending for a legendary team.
