A daring dirt bike stunt turned into a legal battle after an 18-year-old Arizona teen performed a high-risk jump that went massively viral online.
In December, a video shared on the Instagram page EndlessAdrenaline showed Samuel Campbell, 18, riding a bright pink dirt bike up a grassy hill, launching himself into the air, and soaring over a two-lane roadway before landing safely on the opposite side.
The clip instantly gained attention, earning more than 1.9 million likes.
But the viral fame didn’t last long.
Arrest After the Stunt
Moments after the stunt, the video shows Campbell being handcuffed and placed into a police vehicle. His dirt bike was loaded onto a tow truck.
According to the Gilbert Police Department, Campbell was charged with reckless driving for performing the dangerous trick in the Morrison Ranch neighborhood located in Gilbert, within the Phoenix metro area.
Police spokesperson Brenda Carrasco emphasized that such stunts create serious risks:
“The Gilbert Police Department stresses the dangers posed by unsafe riding, especially in residential neighborhoods and on our roadways.”
Incident Details
The jump happened in October near Bloomfield Parkway and Recker Road. However, it gained widespread attention later in the year after the video resurfaced online.
Records from the Gilbert Municipal Court show that Campbell’s next pre-trial conference is scheduled for January 7.
Family Says It Was “Kids Being Kids”
Campbell’s father, Nick Campbell, told the Arizona Republic that police are trying to “make an example” out of his son.
He described Samuel as a calm and low-profile teenager who wasn’t seeking fame or attention — just enjoying a stunt with friends.
